Thursday, August 4th, 2005I’ve contacted Creative Support and after a long exchange of emails with numerous different tech support people, they concluded that I needed to buy a CD from them, for €10. That I did and a couple of days later, it arrived and the card is now working perfectly. I am still wondering why they refuse to put this driver up for download on their own site though (and no, I can’t put it up either, their License Agreement says so.)
Only thing that I find very odd is the software they use at Creative for Tech support. They depend on you retaining all the information in the emails (at the end of the discussion the size of the mails going back and forth was over 15Kb). And each time they receive an email, they assign it to someone else. So a support guy trying to excel will pitch three or four different solutions, in order to appear like he is doing a good job. This makes the emails appear very chaotic and not very user-friendly.
I would expect that a company that has existed for so long would have a good way of dealing with support, but this appears not to be the case.
